PROJECT IDEAS  :-   Network Packet Sniffer
Description :- A packet sniffer is a pgm running in a n/w attached device that passively receives all data link layer frames passing by the device n/w adapter. In a broadcast environment such as ethernet LAN, this means that the packet sniffer receives all frames being transmitted from or to all hosts on the LAN. Any host with an ethernet card can serve as a packet sniffer, as the ethernet adapter needs only to be set to promiscuous mode to receive all passing ethernet frames. The key to detecting packet sniffing is to detect n/w interfaces that are running in promiscuous mode.
